C, N, O of gaseous samples

Following Gases, their concentration (if requested) and isotopic ratio can be measured at the BayCenSI:

  • CH4
  • CO2
  • N2O
  • O2
Methane at atmospheric concentrationHide

Sample containers, at concentraion ranges of about 300 ppm will need to hold about 100 mL each.
We are able to provide the necessary sample containers fitting the PreCon (up tp 100 pc.) for your project. The containers are wihtin a special robust tray, so they can be shipped and transported easily. However, as these are hand-made and thus expensive, in case of loss, we will charge a replacement fee of 120 EUR per each container.

Methane at concentrations above 0.3%Hide

Due to the high concentration, exetainers (12-mL vials) will be sufficient for decent 13C measurements. Please get in contact with us concerning the exact sampling procedure, vials, etc.

Carbon dioxideHide

Here, we differenciate:

  • Highly enriched samples (δ 13C above 1000 per mil and up to 99 at-% 13C-CO2)

  • Moderately enriched samples (δ13C above 100, but below 1000 per mil)

  • Slightly enriched and natural abundance samples (δ13C below 100 per mil)

Nitrous oxideHide
  • At atmospheric concentration (> 1500 ppm), you will be needing sample containers, that hold about 100 mL each.

  • If you are working in concentraion ranges, that are much higher, you might be able to use exetainers (12-mL vials) will be sufficient for decent 13C measurements.
